Every dog needs training. It’s through training that Jesse assists you in cultivating a life-long, low-stress bond with your dog.
JRB K-9 offers efficient and results-driven obedience and behavioral dog training for any breed, any age and any size. During each private dog training session, you’ll work one-on-one for 1-hour with Natural Animal Behaviorist, Jesse R. Booker.
Private dog training sessions can take place at your home, at the JRB K-9 facility, or virtually over the phone.
Each session is specifically structured for your dog's needs based on the findings from their initial 1.5hr behavioral assessment (scheduled separately).
Upon completion of training, dog owners can expect to see positive changes in their dog's behavior, including better obedience, well-trained good behavior patterns, and a clear method of communication.
Behavioral training is appropriate for dogs with issues ranging from mild to more serious types of dog behavior problems such as: reactivity, lunging, biting, resource guarding, and other behaviors resulting from negative emotions like fear, anxiety, and stress.
Please Note:
Dogs deemed aggressive during their initial assessment require behavioral training which incurs additional charges as noted in the rates below.
All training packages include the $250 behavioral assessment. If the behavioral assessment was purchased separately, the assessment fee is applied to any training package. An invoice will be sent to you separately in this instance.
What training methods are used to train your dog by JRB K-9?
Over the many years of training dogs and horses, Jesse has developed his own natural method of training animals by combining Operant Conditioning and Classical Conditioning along with his own counterintuitive methods that have worked for him and his many clients time and time again. Jesse is a true believer that only using one method to train a dog, such as only using Positive Reinforcement (R+), is simply not effective for all dogs. Positive Reinforcement training may work for some dogs when training for obedience, however, it’s typically not the go-to method for behavioral training. Especially when it comes to dogs with aggression.
If Positive Reinforcement training worked for all dogs with behavioral issues, dog owners would be able train their dogs all by themselves – but that’s not happening.
Not fully embracing Positive Reinforcement training does not automatically mean abusive or harmful training methods are used by default. This erroneous assumption has been perpetuated by many in the dog training industry who, unfortunately, aren’t fully educated on animal behavior and how dogs naturally behave with each other. Dogs have a structured system, a method, that they abide by and was instilled in their DNA thousands of years ago.
The dog training field is now full of people who don’t have enough years of hands-on experience with training dogs, let alone severely aggressive dogs. They disseminate misinformation to fit their narrative of humanizing dogs on social media for popularity and to gain financial wealth.
Jesse regularly work with dogs with reactivity and aggression ranging from mild to severe, as well as serious neurological issues. Any of these issues can cause a dog owner much pain, heartbreak and hardship, not to mention legal issues. Jesse takes that very seriously. “I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jesse R. Booker and JRB K-9!
We consulted with several dog trainers before deciding to work with JRB K-9. We have a 7 year old chihuahua mix who was super protective, aggressive towards kids, and a horrible leash walker. My husband and I decided to begin a family, but were very concerned how he would react to a baby and all the people coming and going. Jesse came in and taught us how to train Max (our dog) using calm, consistent, and logical techniques. He instantly responded to all the changes Jesse had us make. We now have a calmer dog who walks well on a leash and is protective, but appropriately responsive. We followed all of Jesse's suggestions, and Max has been great with [our daughter]. He is responsive, caring, and such a wonderful companion. We owe our peace of mind to JRB K-9, and highly recommend Jesse to everyone!”
