JRB K-9 policies :
please read the following jrb k-9 training and boarding policies before reserving any of our services
Payments:
All services must be paid in full at time of purchase — no exceptions, unless using AfterPay.
Payment Assistance:
JRB K-9 offers “Buy now, Pay Later” with AfterPay which you can select when checking out. If you choose AfterPay, your agreement is with this third party. JRB K-9 has no involvement and cannot act as support or intervene on your behalf. Your ability to use AfterPay is based on your own credit history. AfterPay may impose spending limits which are out of our control.
Cancellations , refunds, No-shows and tardiness:
When you make your reservation with JRB K-9 for any of our services, we hold that space for you and your dog. We often have a waiting list, so as a common courtesy, we ask for appropriate notice to have time to re-book your time slot. Because of this, we must strictly adhere to our cancellation policies. Please note, specific cancellation policies apply during the holidays. Holiday policies are listed within the service categoories below, as applicable. We will always make every attempt to work with you and accommodate your schedule.
We attempt to send an email and/or a reminder text to your cell phone number prior to your appointment when possible. Whether or not you receive a reminder, you must be available on the scheduled date and time.
If you’re unable to keep your appointment for any reason, we require a full 72-hours notice via email at jrbk.9@aol.com and you will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to: jrbk.9@aol.com
In a true emergency, please contact us immediately at 818-933-1590. We will handle your situation on a case-by-case basis. However, keep in mind that lack of childcare, getting stuck in traffic, last minute requests to reschedule your session, and failure to check emails, voicemails, and/or text messages are not valid reasons to miss any appointment. Our 3-day cancellation policy allows us sufficient time to contact another client who may be waiting for an appointment.

A $50 cancellation fee applies to any cancelled behavioral assessment.
If you are a no-show to your scheduled assessment or fail to cancel in accordance with our policies, your assessment will be forfeited and no refunds given.

In the unlikely event you have unused training sessions, there are no refunds for unused sessions of training programs. We will credit your account for those unused sessions and they must be used within (6) months of initial purchase. Unused portions of private training and board & train programs are non-transferrable to other dogs, owners, or new handlers.
If you move out of the area after you’ve purchased a private training or board & train program, or before you’ve completed your program, or you decide you live too far away, no refunds will be given, and the program, or remaining training, is not transferable to another dog.
expiration:
All private training and board & train programs expire (6) months from purchase date. We recommend booking your training sessions as soon as possible as our calendar fills up quickly.
If your expiration date is approaching, you must resume training sessions without interruption. You must begin your private training or board & train as soon as you can be added to our schedule. Because our schedule is tight, you may not request scheduling later than 30 days after we have set the dates for the resumed training sessions or a drop off slot assigned for you. We cannot postpone drop off dates unless there is a true emergency.
SCHEDULING:
All training programs are customized for your dog based on their behavioral assessment. Therefore, in order to set your dog up for success, all private training sessions must be scheduled consecutively, on a weekly basis, unless otherwise agreed upon with JRB K-9.
We strongly recommend all boarding and board & train programs are booked at least 30-days out, or more. During holidays, we recommend booking at least 45-days out, or more.

A multi-dog discount is occasionally available when purchasing more than one training package or board & train program for two or more dogs from the same household at the regular price, if purchased and paid for on the same day, at the same time, with a single transaction. This discount cannot be used with other offers, sales, or discounts. Training must be consistent and uninterrupted prior to expiration date, which applies to both dogs. Handlers MUST be in same household. One package per dog. Packages expire together, on the same day.
Kennels:
All dogs are assigned their own kennel for safety purposes.

Guarantees:
It is unethical to give any promises, timelines, or guarantees for training results. We are all on your dog’s timeline in terms of how readily they learn or how resistant they are to training. Your dog’s success also depends on your dedication to learning vocabulary and techniques, attending dog training sessions on a set and uninterrupted schedule, consistent daily practice during and after training, multiple owners/family members being on the same page, frequent socialization, on-going guidance, follow-up training when needed, the health and age of your dog, and more.
Vaccines:
JRB K-9 requires (3) vaccinations for any dog boarded in our care: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella.
If the Bordetella vaccine has never been given or has lapsed in validity, it needs to be administered at least 5 days prior to the dog’s stay.

You may not bring guests, children, friends, relatives not in your household, other dogs, dog walkers, dog trainers, or dog breeders to sessions or classes, unless instructed by JRB K-9.
Only handlers involved in the day-to-day training process are permitted to attend training sessions, and only if they are handling the dog regularly in all training, and must be accompanied by the contract holder every time.
Handlers in attendance for any in-home training session or training session at JRB K-9 must participate in all training and group classes, if applicable, in order to be eligible.
No new, additional, drop-in, or substitute handlers will be permitted to attend or participate in training sessions once the training sessions have started. No exceptions.
